Data Sources and Update Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
This page explains where CalcBaro obtains calculation rules, how often they are reviewed and what each result does not include.
1. Source priority
For Korean tax, payroll, labor and social-insurance calculators, we first use laws, government notices and official guidance from the National Tax Service, Ministry of Employment and Labor, National Health Insurance Service, National Pension Service and other responsible public institutions. Each calculator links to the material used whenever a stable public URL is available.
2. General formulas
Percentage, discount, date, area, fuel-cost, margin and break-even tools use deterministic arithmetic rather than a changing government rate. Their exact formula and assumptions are shown on the calculator page, so an external source may not be necessary.
3. Exchange rates and schedules
Exchange rates are reference data and can differ from bank cash, remittance or card rates. Exam dates are checked against the organizer’s official announcement; the source and last-verification date are shown with each schedule. Users should confirm last-minute changes on the organizer’s site before registering or attending.
4. Review cycle
Rule-based calculators are reviewed at least once each calendar year and again when a responsible authority announces a material rate or formula change. Static arithmetic tools are retested when calculation code changes. The date on a page means the rules and links were reviewed; it is not a guarantee that every individual exception is included.
5. Rounding and exclusions
Displayed amounts may be rounded to the nearest won, percent or unit. Official bills can use daily calculations, institution-specific rounding, prior-year amounts, caps, deductions, exemptions and supporting documents that a short calculator cannot determine. Important exclusions are listed on each page.
6. How to verify a result
Compare the breakdown with the relevant contract, payslip, tax notice or official simulator. For tax filings, employment disputes, insurance eligibility, property transactions or material financial commitments, obtain confirmation from the responsible institution or a qualified professional.
